As never before in history, this is the time for the church to become aware of
the gifts of the Holy Spirit. The Apostle Paul taught the early Church about them.
He wanted them to understand about spiritual matters. Among them are the nine
gifts of the Holy Spirit. Listed below are those nine gifts to the Church, found in
1 Cor. 12:8-10
Word of Wisdom, Word of Knowledge, Faith, Gifts of Healings, Working
of Miracles, Prophecy, Discerning of Spirits, Different Kinds of Tongues and
Interpretation of Tongues
We need to be informed in order to be armed against the wiles and snares of the
devil; who would do anything to draw us back into his camp as we were before
we gave ourselves to Jesus. Hosea 4:6 declares, “My people are destroyed for
lack of knowledge.” Ignorance of the enemy’s schemes is why many Christians
suffer from various demonic afflictions, whether physical, intellectual, emotional
or spiritual.
2 Timothy 2:25-26 KJV 25 In meekness instructing those that oppose
themselves; if God peradventure (perhaps) will give them repentance to the
acknowledging of the truth; 26 And that they may recover themselves out of the
snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.
In this book, I will discuss the gift of “Discerning of Spirits,” which is meant
for the common good of the body of Christ. My goal is helping people, including
Christians to escape from the devil, stay free, and to determine which of the
three voices is communicating with them: the voice of the Holy Spirit, the voice
of un-holy spirits, the voice of our own human spirit. The gift of “Discerning of
Spirits” determines and exposes the presence of demons and their activities. It is
crucial for the Church in these last days.
2 Timothy 3:1-5 NKJV But know this, that in the last days perilous times
will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters,
proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving,
unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors,
headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a
form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!
